Scope
This policy applies to the native Countdown Timer update, version 3.1.2 (code 7), provided by Vinson Developers. Contact: vinsondevelopers@gmail.com. This update is paid and ad-free. Purchase and download records are handled by Google Play under Google's policies; the app does not process payment details.
Local information
Countdown titles, dates, notes, categories, preferences, widget selections and selected photo thumbnails are stored in this app's private storage on your device. This version has no advertising, analytics, account system or app-operated server and does not transmit this information to the developer. App data is excluded from Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup in this version.
Photos and widgets
You choose a photo through Android's system picker. The app reads only the selected image, creates a small center-cropped copy, and does not retain the original image or its metadata. That copy remains with each saved widget/default selection until you change or remove that selection. Widgets show their content on your home screen, where anyone viewing your screen may see it. Your original photo is not changed or deleted. No broad gallery permission is requested.
Sharing and external services
Sharing a countdown or card is optional and opens Android's share chooser. The destination you select receives the shared text/image and handles it under its own policies. A temporary card copy may remain in app cache until Android clears it or you clear app storage. System picker providers, app stores and services you independently use have their own privacy practices. The external website hosting this policy has its own privacy practices, separate from the offline app.
Completion reminders
Reminders are optional and scheduled locally. Android notification access lets the app show a countdown's title when it finishes. Sound and vibration follow your choices and Android channel, volume and Do Not Disturb settings. On supported versions you may optionally grant Alarms & reminders access for more precise timing; without it Android may delay reminders. Local schedules are restored after reboot, app update and time changes. No reminder data is sent to the developer. Notification contents may be visible on your device depending on your lock-screen settings.
Retention and deletion
You can delete timers within the app, remove widgets, or replace their photos/icons. Archiving is not deletion. Copies in other widgets/defaults must be changed separately. For upgrade safety, the previous version's database and imported settings may be retained locally, even after deleting imported entries from the new timer list. To erase all app-local data, use Android Settings > Apps > Countdown Timer > Storage > Clear storage, or uninstall the app. This does not delete original photos or copies already shared with other apps. No developer-held timer/photo database exists in this version.
Previous version 2.0 (code 4)
The previous paid version stored countdowns and widget settings in a local database and used local alarm, notification and foreground-service functionality for reminders and widget updates. Its source does not include app-operated network collection, ads or an account system. Unlike the new version, it allowed Android backup; whether Android backed up or transferred data depended on the device and system settings. Android backup services follow their own policies. Updating to version 3.1.2 imports supported local timer and widget settings without uploading them to the developer. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes local data; manage any existing system backups separately through the relevant Android or Google backup settings.
Security
Data uses Android's app-private storage and system access controls. No storage or device is guaranteed completely secure. Avoid placing confidential information in home-screen widgets or sharing it unintentionally.
